New Lab Service Offered

Central Testing Labs has introduced a new service for the 2008 harvest season. The FIELD CHECK program, which is scheduled to begin July 21, 2008, will allow producers and industry partners to access a rapid screen test for vomitoxin to determine the quality of new crops in time critical situations. Samples received to the Winnipeg lab between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM will be analyzed with a 1 hour turn around time. This test is qualitative, meaning it will report as either < or > (less than or greater than) 2 or 5 ppm, depending on the client's requirements. Clients will be contacted by phone to notify them of test results, which will also be followed by a standard test report. Please note that this program applies only to wheat, barley, and corn samples with a MAXIMUM 15% moisture content. |
